North Road came to a standstill on Monday 3 June, when people celebrated
the Queen's Golden Jubilee at a fayre organised by Lancing &
Sompting Royal British Legion.
Children were enthralled by a street entertainer, who gave a spectacular
display of close-up card-tricks, and a bouncy castle, as the older
people were entertained by a steel band, and also the brass band
of the Royal British Legion. Lancing's fire crew were showing off
one of their tenders, with an opportunity to learn about the equipment.
Children also had the opportunity to do some artwork on large sheets
of paper laid out along the pavement.
There was free pop and crisps for the children, and Lancing Tabernacle
provided free teas and coffees, and there were barbequed sausages
and burgers, and a good time was had by all.
